No photos from this exciting event - but we attended a National Geographic Warehouse Sale today. These are held at a couple of locations around the country and are so worth it - especially when you can rationalize your purchases with homeschooling!
We got some fantastic deals - most things were 50-75% off. We have a new atlas (or two?), some awesome DVDs and videos (for a $1 each!), and a great book on astronomy for kids, a book about the Pilgrims and some wonderful field guides on plants and birds. I think Caity also got some field guides about small mammals (you probably don't need a field guide if you see a big mammal!) and about weather.
There were crates of books, clothes, kits, calendars, travel and field guides - just about anything. The event was held in the armory right near RFK stadium. I was so relieved when tony found a shopping cart for us to use - but then realized those weren't for use when getting your purchases to the parking lot. My poor hands won't be turning pages anytime soon -
We saved about $200 on what we purchased (Had to add it up when we got home!) Next year we are taking an empty suitcase on wheels - and we'll take you too if you are interested!
