Can you really have too much of a good thing? Let's examine our day and see.
We attended the final yee-haw of the soccer season - the Soccer Jamboree. This event was hosted by the base and all of the teams in the league, coaches and families met at the Community Center. The players received their participatory trophies, took photos and then dug into their ice cream and cake. Now - you may recall that we had already celebrated the end of the season as a team....but this was the league celebration. More cake, more fun - surely this is never too much of a good thi
ng.Following this great event, Caitlin was invited to another jamboree of great things. Her friend Kara (pictured below) invited her to go see the movie "Flushed Away", eat chinese food and sleepover. These would all be categorized in Caitlin's world as "my bestest, most favoritest things ever in my whole life." I'm thinking these are all great things that you couldn't have too much of - no way, no how.
Finally, Tony and I enjoyed a great evening with some of his co-workers. Eve
ryone was invited to bring either a side dish or a dessert. We took Homemade Bailey's Irish Cream. I thought it fit both categories. We made a double batch. Lets just say that there was no Bailey's left at the end of the evening. So that shaped up to be a great promotion, lovely party, and wonderful laughs. Those that had too much of that good thing made it home safely. So with that in mind - our evening seemed to consist of good things in the right amounts.
Bailey's recipe: At slow speed, for one minute, blend 3 eggs, 1 T. vanilla, 1 T. instant espresso or instant coffee, 2 T. chocolate syrup and 1/2 c. Crown Royal whiskey. Add 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1/2 c. Crown Royal whiskey and 1 pt. whipping cream. Pulse 5 or 6 times. Shake or stir prior to serving. Keeps in the fridge up to 1 month - better the colder it is!
Seems like good things are plentiful for our family. If we have too much of them, we seem to cover it pretty well!
